  Latest Issue of the Journal of East Asian Studies
The latest issue of Journal of East Asian Studies is now available. JEAS (Vol.10, No.1) includes five articles on political and historical issues in East Asia as well as five reviews of recently published books. The first article by Hironori Sasada discusses politics and leadership in Japan. Other articles include Dennis Patterson and Hans Stockton's analysis of Taiwan's voting system, and Robert Albritton's coverage of the issues related to Muslims in southern Thailand. Finally, William Case looks at party politics in Malaysia while Walter Clemens examines the North Korean nuclear crisis.

The latest issue briefing by Sukhee Han is available. In this paper, he looks at Beijing's changing support for Pyongyang following North Korea's second nuclear test on May 25, 2009. His paper also gives important policy recommendations for Seoul and Washington.

2010 EAI Social Sciences Lecture Series
From March 3 to March 29, the EAI will be holding eight seminars under the title of "Youth in History: From the Enlightenment Era to the Age of Complexity." Professor Young-Sun Ha (Seoul National University) will be leading the lectures that bring together promising students to enhance their understanding of the social sciences.
