  EAI-CISS Roundtable Summary
As MacArthur Asia Security Initiative core institutions, the EAI and Peking University's Center for International & Strategic Studies co-organized a roundtable session to facilitate future cooperation on November 23, 2009. The summary discussed on the topic, "East Asia's Future after the Global Economic Crisis: The Role of China and South Korea for the Region" is now available on EAI website.

  EAI Asia Security Initiative Updates
Working Paper Series on "Transforming 21st Century Alliance."
The EAI's National Security Panel has uploaded nine working papers written by panel members. These papers in Korean cover a diverse range of issues, such as the Obama administration's foreign policy and alliances in the 21st century.

6th Infravision Forum with Dong-sun Park:
"The Rise of G-20 and its Future Prospects"

The EAI held its 6th Infravision Forum with Dong-sun Park, Ambassador for Economic Cooperation from the Ministry of Finance and Trade, talking on the current issues of the G-20 and South Korea's future role in hosting the 2010 summit.

Evening Gala for Friends of EAI
On December 3, 2009, the EAI hosted "Evening Gala for Friends of EAI" to celebrate its 7th Anniversary. This event brought together those that have supported the EAI to offer gratitude and thanks. Through their kind and warm-hearted support, the EAI has been able to continue in its hard and dedicated work.

7th Expert Seminar with Richard J. Samuels
The 7th Expert Seminar took place with Richard J. Samuels (MIT) presenting on "Kidnapping Politics in East Asia." The discussion focused on the differences in the political approaches toward North Korea's kidnapping of citizens from Japan and South Korea.

Northeast Asian Security Dialogue between China and ROK
The EAI together with Center for International & Strategic Studies of Peking University co-organized the Northeast Asian Security Dialogue between China and South Korea on November 23-24, 2009. Under the title of "How to enhance strategic cooperation between China and South Korea over the future of North Korea?" the two day event consisted of a Students Forum and an Experts Panel.
