  Latest Issue of the Journal of East Asian Studies
The latest issue of Journal of East Asian Studies is now available. Volume 9, Issue 3 includes several articles on historical, political, and economic issues in East Asia. The first article is by Charles L. Glaser et al., discussing Jennifer Lind's book Sorry States: Apologies in International Politics. Other articles include Yitan Li, Patrick James and A. Cooper Drury's analysis of China-Taiwan relations, and Min Ye's coverage of Foreign Direct Investment in China. Finally, Peter Hays Gries et al., look at contentious history and threat perceptions in East Asia and Jun Saito examines Japanese domestic politics.

The Third ROK-U.S. Alliance Conference
The multimedia, summary and proceedings of the conference on "An ROK-U.S. Alliance for the 21st Century" are available. The conference was held on November 3, 2009 with the kind support of Pyeongtaek City. Thomas J. Christensen (Princeton University) and Byung-kook Kim (Korea University) gave public lectures in the morning and there were two roundtable sessions on alliances and regionalism in East Asia in the afternoon.

Korea-Australia Leadership Forum 2009
The second annual Korea-Australia Leadership Forum was jointly held by the EAI and Australian National University, November 5-6, 2009. Last year's forum was held in Canberra, Australia, and this year it was held in Seoul under the title of "Middle Power Partnership and Cooperation."

Northeast Asian Security Dialogue between China and ROK
The EAI, together with Center for International & Strategic Studies(CISS) of Peking University, co-organized the Northeast Asian Security Dialogue between China and South Korea on November 23-24, 2009. Under the title of "How to enhance strategic cooperation between China and South Korea over the future of North Korea?" the two-day event consisted of a students forum and an experts panel.

MASI Roundtable on Future of East Asian Region
The EAI and CISS co-organized a roundtable discussion with the title of "Future of the Region after Global Economic Crisis: The Role of China and South Korea in East Asia" on November 23, 2009. This roundtable hosted experts from China and Korea who discussed future challenges for the region and offered their own perspectives and policy recommendations for the region in the post-crisis world.

6th Expert Seminar with Jennifer M. Lind
The 6th Expert Seminar took place with Jennifer Lind (Dartmouth University), who presented on "Regime Type and National Remembrance."

7th Global Academy with Jennifer M. Lind
The 7th Global Academy was held with Jennifer Lind, who presented and discussed with students on "Regime Type and National Remembrance."
