EAI Issue Briefing on China-North Korea Relations
In recent months North Korea has embarked upon a number of diplomatic activities as it seeks to gain economic support from both China and Russia. In this issue briefing entitled "China's Strategic Shift and North Korea's Open-Door to China Policy," Seung-Yul Oh says that China must better synchronize efforts to resolve the North Korean nuclear crisis with its own bilateral relationship with the North. Such an effort can then improve Beijing's position as a peacekeeper and engineer of progress in Northeast Asia.
