EAI Commentary on China-North Korea Relations
In May 2011, Kim Jong-il visited China where he met with Chinese President Hu Jintao to discuss a number of bilateral issues at a time of great tension on the Korean Peninsula. Lee outlines how ties between Beijing and Pyongyang have been far from perfect as both sides seek different interests from one another.
