The KF Korea Workshop is hosted by the Korea Foundation and organized by the East Asia Institute to promote and share understanding of Korean social, political, and economic issues among international residents in Korea.

The 2018 KF Korea Workshop 2 invited Kang Won-Taek, a political science and international studies professor at Seoul National University, as our first speaker to give a lecture on the topic “Korean Democracy: Challenges and Development”. Professor Kang served as the former president of the Korean Political Science Association and the Korean Association of Political Party Studies. He is currently working as a professor of political science and international studies at Seoul National University. During the lecture, he explained the history of Korean politics from 1987 to today and discussed Korea’s democratization.
