The August Edition of the UCR Statement Factsheet Is Out Now:
  “The Summer of Conflict Continues”
Following on from the continued geopolitical tensions that dominated the middle of 2014, titled "The Summer of Conflict Continues," the August 2014 edition of the U.S.-China Relations (UCR) Statement Factsheet covers a wide breadth of issues. Including but not limited to: territorial conflicts in the South China Sea, Japan's Defense White Paper, Washington's drive for the successful implementation of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), Chinese support for United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions against ISIL and the U.S. decision to launch airstrikes in Iraq. The UCR Statement Factsheet brings together official statements made by the U.S. and China, collected daily and categorized into key issue areas. It was initiated by the EAI Asia Security Initiative Research Center in November 2010 and is published monthly. The UCR series aims to provide real data for those keeping a watchful eye on the changing nature of relations between a rising power in China, and the existing hegemonic power of the United States. All UCR Factsheets are available for download at the EAI website.
