International Center for Innovation, Transformation and Excellence in Governance (INCITEGov) conducted the second video interview that is part of the ADRN project “Sharing Our Practices for Better Governance.” INCITEGov interviews Remedios I Rikken, former executive director of the Philippine Commission on Women. Focusing on the current state and development of the women’s rights in the Philippines, Ms. Rikken emphasizes that there needs systemic efforts of women themselves in order to obtain the rights of the marginalized. By showing historical cases of the Philippines, she argues that active participation of women in various fields will help protect women’s rights.
