"Moving ROK-Japan Relations Out of the Past and Into the Future"

2015 was a significant year as it marked the 70th anniversary of Korean independence and the 50th anniversary of the normalization of ROK-Japan relations. Yet time has not healed all wounds in this relationship and the two countries continue to struggle with overcoming their history. Recognizing that deteriorated ROK-Japan relations do not bode well for peace and prosperity in East Asia, EAI researchers held several discussions and produced this report on how both countries should go about improving relations and provided a list of policy alternatives to meet this goal.
