Asia Democracy Research Network Seoul Forum
"From Knowledge to Policy: Creating Impetus of Democracy Coalition"
The East Asia Institute, together with member organizations of the Asia Democracy Research Network, hosted the international forum "From Knowledge to Policy: Creating Impetus of Democracy Coalition" in Seoul from August 7-8, 2017. The forum, which was aimed at promoting human rights and democratic values, sought methods to effectively mirror democracy research and knowledge in policy. It also provided a platform to strengthen the alliance between governments, legislatures, civil society, and the media by promoting understanding of democracy, mutual exchanges, and cooperation. The forum was launched with a discussion on the threats democracy faces today and segued into a lively debate over the responses and policy ideas of various stakeholders.
