"South Korea amid U.S.-China Decoupling: It is Not About Making a Choice"

EAI hosted an online seminar entitled “South Korea’s Strategy in Times of a Great Economic Decoupling” with Stanford University’s Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center on September 18. This seminar is the fifth seminar of the <COVID-19 and the New World Order> online seminar series. During the seminar, panelists discussed economic and security challenges that arise from U.S.-China economic decoupling as well as South Korea's strategy. Panelists included Taeho Bark (former Minister of Trade of Korea), Charles Freeman (U.S. Chamber of Commerce), David Kang (University of Southern California), Seungjoo Lee (EAI; Chung-Ang University), Yong Suk Lee (Stanford APARC), and Seong-Ho Sheen (Seoul National University). The seminar was moderated by Yul Sohn (EAI; Yonsei University) and Gi-Wook Shin (Stanford APARC). pc
