The East Asia Institute (EAI) and Korea Foundation (KF) launched an educational program for international students known as the “KF-EAI Korea Friendship”.

The eighth lecture of the Korea Friendship Academicus program, consisting of an eight-part lecture series exploring the various aspects of the Korean society, was held on July 11, 2013. Professor Emmanuel Pastreich of Kyung Hee University gave a lecture on “Rediscovering Traditional Korean Culture,” explaining the importance of humanities in today’s society and discussing how to apply the traditional Korean culture to the global market.

The subsequent Q&A session allowed Korea Friendship students to freely ask questions about the modern South Korean society’s spiritual heritage from the past and a comparative analysis between Confucianism and Western philosophy.
