EAI and Genron NPO hosted the 10th Korea-Japan Future Dialogue on September 3, 2022, under the theme of “Thinking the Future of South Korea-Japan Relations in the Context of the U.S.-China conflicts.” The dialogue, first started in 2013, is a platform for individual-level and private experts from both countries to discuss future cooperation strategies and expand mutual understanding between Seoul and Tokyo. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Korea-Japan Future Dialogue, Jin Park, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, and Yoshimasa Hayashi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, delivered congratulatory remarks. Taeho Bark (Senior Advisor of Lee & Ko, Global Commerce Institute), Chaesung Chun (Chair of the Center for National Security Studies of EAI), Kyudok Hong (Professor at Sookmyung Women’s University), Jung-hwan Lee (Professor at Seoul National University), Woong-rae Noh (Member of the National Assembly, Democratic Party), Kak-soo Shin (Former Korean Ambassador to Japan), Yoshiko Kojo (Professor at Aoyama Gakuin University of International Politics, Economics and Communication), Hideki Makihara (Member of the House of Representatives in the Diet, Liberal Democratic Party), Rui Matsukawa (Member of the House of Councillors, Liberal Democratic Party), Yuji Miyamoto (Chairman of the Miyamoto Institute of Asian Research), Shinsuke Sugiyama (Former Japanese Ambassador to the U.S.), Masao Okonogi (Professor Emeritus of Keio University) participated in the event. The dialogue convened in a hybrid format, connecting EAI Conference Hall in South Korea and Gakushi-Kaikan in Japan. |
