On July 17, 2012, the EAI hosted its GlobalNet 21 Forum with Sung Kim, Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Korea. Under the title of "ROK-U.S. Relations in a Changing World," Ambassador Kim presented a speech which touched upon some of the ways in which U.S.-ROK relations are playing a more international role.

Smart Talk with Yeh-chung Lu
The EAI held its Smart Talk with Professor Yeh-chung Lu, National Cheng-chi University of Taiwan, on July 13, 2012. Professor Lu presented on the G2 concept and its implications for the Asia-Pacific region. A video of the main presentation is available.
National Security Panel Forum on South Korea's Future Diplomacy
On June 27, 2012, the EAI's National Security Panel hosted a forum with scholars, politicians, and the media. At this event, the members of the panel presented the findings from their research project entitled, "Toward 2020: Ten Agenda for South Korea's Diplomacy." English summaries of each chapter from the project's report are available.
EAI Article on Balance of Power in East Asia In an article for the International Relations and Security Network, one of the world's leading open access information services for international relations and security professionals, the EAI's Yang Gyu Kim and Stephen Ranger examine how countries in East Asia are "locked" into a balance of power. In assessing the future of U.S.-China relations in the region, they believe that there will be a more complex balance of power dynamic.
