Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party Visitation

On May 10th, legislators and officials from the Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) visited the East Asia Institute, where EAI President Sook-Jong Lee briefed them on the recent presidential election and policy issues in South Korea. The delegation visited South Korea to observe and learn about this year’s historic presidential election by visiting the National Assembly, think tanks, and other public organizations. At the briefing, they discussed the meaning of the presidential election, challenges for the new president and government, security issues surrounding the Korean Peninsula, U.S.-China relations, South Korea’s diplomatic strategies, and other current affairs.
