Expert Seminar with Professor Seung-Youn Oh

  • 2015-06-09

EAI held an Expert Seminar on June 9, 2015 with Professor Seung-Youn Oh from Bryn Mawr College. In this seminar, Professor Oh discussed her research topic “Convenient Compliance: China’s Industrial Policy Staying One Step Ahead of WTO Enforcement.” Professor Oh argued that China’s compliance with WTO rulings reflects Beijing’s skillful navigation through the WTO’s dispute-resolution process rather than socialization to international norms. During the seminar, participants discussed the institutional limitations of the WTO, the legality of the delay process, and the possibility of other developing countries using such a process.
