EAI held an Expert Seminar on June 2, 2015 with Professor Allen Carlson from Cornell University. In this seminar, Professor Carlson discussed his research topic “China Transnationalized?". Challenging the conventional wisdom about China, Professor Carlson argued that China should be viewed as a transnational polity. During the seminar, participants discussed the concept of transnational public intellectuals and the Chinese debate about the collective self and its relationship with the outside.
