The East Asia Institute (President Yul Sohn), Korea Dialogue Academy and Conference for Peace in East Asia jointly held <EAI-Korea Dialogue Academy-Conference for Peace in East Asia Joint Discussion Forum: The Future of the U.S. hegemony and Peace in East Asia> on December 16 (Wednesday) at Somerset Palace Seoul. The joint discussion forum covered two sessions including 1) the Future of the U.S hegemony, and 2) Peace in East Asia: Challenges and Tasks. Panelists discussed the direction Korea should take amid intensifying strategic competition between the US and China and how to further cooperation among middle power countries. Panelists discussed in depth the future of the United States, China, Japan, ASEAN, and the regional order, which are the core forces of peace on the Korean Peninsula and East Asia in light of the upcoming Biden administration.
This forum was held in a hybrid format with online audience and on-site experts.
