The 2017 Next Generation Conference was held at the KF Global Center on August 9th as a part of the KF-EAI Korea Friendship Project Communicus. The three conference presenters were chosen from among this year’s Korea Friendship participants after a rigorous evaluation of their research proposals by renowned scholars from EAI’s knowledge network. Professor Jae Hyeok Shin of Korea University moderated the conference, which included presentations on the selected themes and a discussion panel made up of undergraduate and graduate students.

Bohesa Won (Georgetown University) received the grand prize for her presentation “Examining the Relationship between Culture, Society, and Sex Trafficking in South Korea”, and Robert Erik Lionberger (Academy of Korean Studies) received second place for his presentation “Foreigners Navigating a Confucian Social Order in South Korea.”
