East Asia Institute (EAI) hosted an international conference titled “Coping wth Security Challenges in the Post COVID-19 World: Climate Change, Pandemic, Economic and Cyberspace Security” on December 11 and 12. During the opening ceremony on December 11, Yul Sohn, President of EAI and Professor at Yonsei University, delivered an opening remarks, and Young-Sun Ha, Chairman of EAI and Professor Emeritus at Seoul National University, presented a keynote speech. Chairman Ha proposed a concept of “competitive symbiosis,” suggesting that protagonists in international politics should flexibly employ methods of both competition and cooperation to overcome major crises in contemporary civilization.
