On Monday, October 29th, Mr. Simon O’Connor, MP and Chair of New Zealand Parliament’s Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Trade Select Committee, together with Mr. Philip Turner, New Zealand Ambassador to the ROK, visited the East Asia Institute to meet with President Yul Sohn.The meeting, which was held at the embassy’s request, covered a broad range of topics including the current security situation and initiatives underway on the Korean Peninsula and the ROK’s relationships with other Northeast Asian countries. The discussion also addressed the ROK in the multilateral system, including regional organizations, the G20, and the WTO. Finally, Mr. O’Connor discussed his priorities as Chair of the Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Trade Select Committee.
