EAI`s project planned the interview series "Revisiting Burma," that listen to the stories of civil society activists in South Korea who have supported Myanmar`s Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) for the past year. Eun-kyung Cheon, a senior coordinator at People’s Solidarity of Participatory Democracy (PSPD), said "Without the days of Gwangju, we would have still paid attention to the days of Myanmar these days," stressing the importance of democracy and human rights cooperation as the background of supporting Myanmar`s democratization. During the conversation, she reflected on the previous year, when PSPD protested against Korean corporations that had conspired with Myanmar`s military prior to the coup and held online sympathy campaigns. `As a CSO, we need to keep raising our voices, even if what we try to do is small,` she said.

■ Eunkyung Cheon_A senior coordinator of People`s Solidarity of Participatory Democracy (PSPD). She is working as a member of the executive committee at the Korean Civil Society in Support of Democracy in Myanmar(106 CSOs). She has been working at the committee for social welfare and is now in charge of international solidarity of PSPD from 2018.
