First Workshop of the "Strengthening Civil Society Organizations in Myanmar"
"Good Research, Good Governance"

The first workshop of the “2016 Strengthening Civil Society Organizations in Myanmar” program is being held in Yangon, Myanmar between the 25th and 29th of July. This program is the continuation of the 2015 “Building Civil Society Capacity in Myanmar” program, and seeks to strengthen the capacity of nascent think tanks in Myanmar so that they may develop new and innovative policies and ideas to support the democratic transition currently underway in Myanmar. The focus of the first workshop is on sharing the experiences of all partner organizations, and on research planning and public policy report writing. All participating organizations will prepare a proposal for a research project that will run through the course of the entire program. The following partner organizations are working together with EAI on the 2016 program: Another Development, Naushawng Education Network, Open Myanmar Initiative, Salween Institute of Public Policy, Sandhi Governance Institute, Tagaung Institute of Political Studies, Yangon School of Political Science, and Yone Kyi Yar. And this program is made possible thanks to the generous support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and the Open Society Foundation (OSF). pc   mobile
