The Journal of East Asian Studies, a journal by EAI, has been ed for indexing by the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI). JEAS is the first journal by a Korean independent institute to be indexed in SSCI, earning EAI international recognition for its distinguished research activities.
JEAS is an international and interdisciplinary journal edited by Professor Stephan Haggard (University of California) since 2000. The journal publishes academic research, case studies, research notes, current reports, review essays and commentaries as well as book reviews concerning social scientific study in East Asia. Currently, it is published by The Lynne Rienner Publishers three times a year. JEAS was indexed by the International Bibliography of the Social Sciences in 2007 and was chosen as the beneficiary of Korea Research Foundation.
Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) is an interdisciplinary citation index product of Thomson Scientific developed by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) from the Science Citation Index. This citation database covers more than 1,700 of the world's leading journals of social sciences and over 50 disciplines.
