Roundtable with KAIST’s Nuclear Nonproliferation Education and Research Center (NEREC)

The Nuclear Nonproliferation Education and Research Center (NEREC) at KAIST visited the East Asia Institute on Wednesday, July 8, as part of its 2014 NEREC Summer Fellows Program. 32 students comprising of international students, Korean students studying abroad, and those enrolled in master’s and Ph.D. programs in Nuclear Engineering visited EAI, one of five representative Korean research institutions selected for their program. During their visit to EAI, a brief presentation on the launching of EAI, its history, and noteworthy activities was followed by a Q&A session. During this roundtable discussion led by President Sook-Jong Lee, questions pertaining to not only EAI’s individual research projects, but internship programs, opportunities and issues relating to female leadership were also raised.
