General Curtis M. Scapparotti, Commanding General of the United States Forces in Korea (USFK), Combined Forces Command (CFC), and United Nations Command (UNC), visited East Asia Institute (EAI) on Tuesday May 20, 2014. On behalf of EAI, President Lee Sook-Jong welcomed GEN Scapparotti and introduced to him on EAI’s role as Korea’s leading independent think-tank. Chairman Ha Young-Sun and Dr. Chun Chaesung also joined to discuss the current security environment of the Korean peninsula. Before his departure, the general congratulated on EAI’s quality research efforts and urged to engage in many more activities in the future.
