Korea’s Strategy for Development Cooperation: Enhancing Aid Effectiveness through Complex Networking

  • 2012-03-23

South Korea is the only country that has developed into a donor from a recipient of international aid. The 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness (HLF-4) held in Busan last year indicates its international status and its new diplomatic vision on the issue.

East Asia Institute has launched a research team on official development aid (ODA) under the impression that Korea needs to re-evaluate its ODA policies as a continuous diplomatic strategy instead of a one-time occasion. The research team, consisting of 5 experts, drew a strategy for Korea’s international development and cooperation by reviewing the other countries’ cases and analyzing international standards.

EAI presented the final report of the team at the conference titled “Korea’s Strategy for Development Cooperation: Enhancing Aid Effectiveness through Complex Networking” on 23, March. The detailed program is as follow.
