The East Asia Institute hosted the MacArthur Asia Security Initiative 2010 Annual Meeting at Westin Chosun Hotel, Seoul, South Korea, from July 7-9 2010. This was the second annual meeting held since the Inaugural MacArthur Grantees’ Meeting and Official Launch of the MacArthur Asia Security Initiative hosted by the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies in Singapore last year. Following on from the successful Singapore meeting which focused on launching the MASI program, this year’s Annual Meeting was more focused on developing a network and exchanging information between grantees toward the goal of developing an epistemic community. The 2010 Annual Meeting was organized to meet three key objectives: (1) improving the MASI networks across clusters as well as within each cluster, (2) providing a venue to discuss and exchange ideas on the major issues in the Asia region, and (3) producing a policy report based upon the findings and conclusions of the meeting. The below is the program for the MacArthur Asia Security Initiative 2010 Annual Meeting.
