[KF Korea Workshop 3] "Overview of Korea’s Rapid Industrial Development: Miracle on the Han River"

The KF Korea Workshop is hosted by the Korea Foundation and organized by the East Asia Institute to promote and share understanding of Korean social, political, and economics issues among international residents in Korea.
During the third 2018 KF Korea Workshop, the second lecture will be delivered by Tae-shin Kwon, Vice President of the Federation of Korean Industries. His lecture will be on topic of “Overview of Korea’s Rapid Industrial Development: Miracle on Han River.” He is also currently president and CEO of Korea Economic Research Institute.
Mr. Kwon summarized the miraculous economic history of Korea from its days after the Korean War with a GNI. He also analyzed the key drivers of Korea’s rapid growth and focused on what challenges are facing the Korea economy today after the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. In the lecture we also discussed about the future challenges young generation will have to face with the 4th Industrial Revolution.
