Maritime strategy is at the center of the changing U.S-China relationship. Both the Indo-Pacific strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative offer new directions for U.S-China relations and implications for strategic competition. Korea serves as the hub for both the Belt and Road Initiative and the Indo-Pacific strategy. As the U.S and China evolve their maritime strategies, directions for Korean diplomacy are also emerging.
To discuss these issues, the East Asia Institute (EAI) jointly held “Belt and Road Initiative vs. Indo-Pacific Strategy: Evaluation and Prospects” conference with the Sea Lane of Communication (SLOC) at Hotel Kukdo on October 15. At the conference, international law experts and political scientists gathered to discuss the current situation and prospects
