The East Asia Institute (President Yul Sohn) invites you to the 8th online seminar of the COVID-19 and the New World Order Series titled, “ROK-U.S. Cooperation for Democracy and Human Rights: Fighting Anti-Asian Americanism.” The Joint Statement released after the U.S.-Korea Summit in May expressed the leaders’ vision for a region governed by democratic norms, human rights, and the rule of law both at home and abroad” Additionally Biden pledged to work together with Korea to ensure the dignity and rights of all Americans including Korean-Americans. In this seminar, Korean and US experts will discuss and how anti-Asian-Americanism sentiment affects the political participation of Korean-Americans and how this affects the direction of U.S.-Korea democratic cooperation and also discuss how international democratic cooperation be established.
