4th Seminar on the Future Vision of ROK-Japan Cooperation under the U.S.-China Strategic Competition

East Asia Institute (EAI) launched a research project titled in order to redefine the goals of Korea-Japan relations and to create an inclusive and sustainable regional order beyond Korea-Japan bilateral relations.

The fourth meeting of the project was held on May 14, 2021. During this seminar, Professor Asano Toyomi of Waseda University gave a presentation on “Democratization, Nationalism and Reconciliation in East Asia: Focusing upon the Complex of Memories” followed by a presentation by Professor Lee Jung Hwan of Seoul National University on “The Fading Away of Managing Mechanism in Korea-Japan Relations.”
