EAI Sarangbang
The concept of Sarangbang was first established by Park Gyu-su in the 19th century to nurture younger generations of academics and scholars. EAI’s Sarangbang has followed the legacy of Park’s “sarangbang” with an educational program designed for rising political experts and diplomats. EAI’s Sarangbang offers weekly lectures by Young-Sun Ha, professor emeritus of Seoul National University and domestic expert in security and politics. The program also promotes a strong support network amongst the participants. Weekly seminars are then followed by individual-led research projects, field trips and publications. Students participating in EAI’s Sarangbang learn basic concepts and theories underlying international politics and read relevant publications to gain a well-rounded understanding of international politics and the economy.
