Varieties of Capitalism in Asia: the State, Corporate Governance, and Social Policy

From September 9th to 10th, EAI held VOC international academic conference at Korea University to analyze various forms of capitalism in East Asia and discuss different means to cope with globalization in each country. With the theoretical basis provided by Peter A. Hall and David Soskice, the specific case studies were contested. Main focuses on the issue of capitalism were business-oriented economy with restructuring problem, relationship between labour market and firms, public and private policies in East Asian countries, and characteristics of business. After the analysis, we discussed different strategy of each country to the external shock of globalization. 3 sessions were held for 2 days.
