"North Korean Nuclear Issue and South Korea-Japan Relations: The Present and the Future"

 

Tae-Young Kim, South Korea’s former Minister of National Defense, assessing that North Korea’s advances in nuclear and missile weaponry pose a serious threat to both South Korea and Japan, called for strengthening cooperation between the two countries as well as among East Asian countries. Gen Nakatani, Japan’s former Minister of Defense, stressed the significance of cooperation among Japan, the United States and South Korea in regard to North Korean security issues, particularly in light of North Korea’s ever-growing attack capability, including submarine-launched ballistic missile(SLBM).
