EAI hosted the third Korea-U.S. Alliance Conference titled “An ROK-US Alliance for the 21st century" on November 3, 2009. In the first session, former Senior Secretary for Foreign Affairs and National Security, Byung-Kook Kim (Korea University) and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Thomas J. Christensen (Princeton University) delivered a lecture on the topic of "Korea-U.S. alliance and Peace in East Asia." In the following session, a Roundtable discussion took place inviting scholars from the U.S. and Northeast Asia discussing on the topic of security alliance in the region.
