The 8th ROK-U.S Dialogue 21, a forum for discussing pending questions on ROK-U.S relation raised by Korean Assemblymen and the U.S authorities stationed in Korea, was held at the Chosun hotel on 10th Jan. Prof. Young-Sun Ha, (Seoul National University), Trustee of EAI, moderated the discussion. It began with greetings from Sung Joo Han, and congratulations from Alexander Vershbow, the U.S. Ambassador in South Korea. B. B. Bell, the commander of the ROK-US Combined Forces gave the topic presentation on "The Challenge of North Korea and Korean-American Relationship," followed by a debate with participants such as Assemblyman Sung Choi of the Uri Party, Assemblyman Jin Ha Hwang of the Grand National Party, Assemblyman Hoi Chan Roh of the Democratic Labour Party, and Prof. Seongho Sheen (Seoul National University). Nine members of the National Assembly and fourteen figures from U.S. authority stationed in Korea led an active discussion over the relevant issues. The forum closed with a closing address by Hong-koo Lee, Chairman of the Board of EAI.
