The 2nd New Pyeongtaek Knowledge Forum was held in National Assembly Hall hosted by and with the city of Pyeongtaek’s sponsorship. The “New Pyeongtaek Forum” began in 2011, focusing on the local issues of the city. During the second forum entitled “Integration of U.S. Military and Local Community in a Multicultural Era,” experts discussed what has to be done to establish a desirable relationship between the US military and local residents. Cooperation and communication between these two groups are absolutely necessary for the strengthening of the ROK-US alliance. In this regard, the forum provided opportunities for policy makers, officials, and local residents to express, share, and exchange their own positions or thoughts about policies made.
