EAI Working Paper China’s Market Regulation in the Post-Socialist Context The paper examines the governing structure in China and evaluates the practices of transforming the Chinese state from “planner to regulator” following the economic reforms. Yukyung Yeo explains how informal institutions and party leadership exert regulatory controls to shape and influence policies and directions of industries critical to the national economy.
