Ranked No. 60 among
2014 Global Think Tanks
 
The EAI is excited to announce that it has placed 60th worldwide on the "Global Go To Think Tank Index" compiled by the "Think Tanks and Civil Society Program (TTCSP)" at the University of Pennsylvania, marking a rise of 5 places from last year's rankings. The EAI was the only non-profit independent institute in Korea to be ranked so prominently on the index and across many areas (8 in total). This is the third consecutive year the EAI has managed this feat and as a result, the EAI continues to take immense pride in its highly valued contribution to global knowledge.
Taking the Lead: EAI Helps to Foster the Growth of Think Tanks in Korea
On January 22, the EAI hosted a forum titled "Expanding the International Role of Korean Think Tanks." Held in partnership with the KIEP and Hankyung Magazine, the forum discussed ways to create an enabling environment for the growth of think tanks domestically in Korea.
Continuity the Order of the Day for UCR December Issue
The final issue of the U.S.-China Relations Statement Factsheet for 2014 was christened "The Winter of Continuity Begins," in reflection of the dominance of issues such as ISIL, Ebola, territorial disputes, and human rights, that continued to color the statements from both countries at the conclusion of 2014.

North Korea and bilateral Korea-Japan relations were the main focus of discussions at the EAI on January 22nd, as the Japan Institute of International Affairs led by Professor Masao Okonogi, head researcher, visited the institute.
