[ADRN 15th Workshop] Vertical Accountability, Democracy Activists` Network, Disinformation and Narrative Research

The East Asia Institute (EAI) hosted the 15th Regional Meeting of the Asia Democracy Research Network (ADRN) in Tokyo, Japan, on May 25-26 (Saturday-Sunday). Member institutions of ADRN presented their research findings on vertical accountability and shared recommendations for applying these insights to the political landscapes of their respective countries. Additionally, a special session was held to discuss international solidarity measures for the restoration of democracy in regions such as Hong Kong and Myanmar, as well as the impact of authoritarian narratives and misinformation on democracy and strategies to counter them.

[EAI-NDI Roundtable] Capstone Event: Advancing ROK Parliamentary Support for Democracy Assistance

Over the past eighteen months, EAI has been actively engaging with the members of the ROK National Assembly, scholars, and civil society stakeholders to enhance domestic and regional collaboration for advancing democratic norms and values. Reflecting on our progress, this culminating capstone event sought to gather parliamentarians and experts who have participated in our initiatives to explore ways in which South Korea can take leadership in supporting global democracy. More details from the roundtable discussions will soon be available via video publication.
