EAI Internship Program
As a non-profit research organization, the EAI aims to help develop the next generation of internationally focused scholars and practitioners through education programs. One such avenue being internships that are offered to passionate and talented undergraduate and graduate students, who show promise and a strong desire toward building a career in policymaking and/or academia. EAI interns have opportunities to attend international conferences, seminars, and forums held by the institute. Moreover, EAI offers a weekly intern seminar to provide educational incentives and unique insights into the think-tank world. During the seminar interns have the chance to network with other likeminded students and also receive informative lectures by EAI staff members.

Departments	Peace and Security Research Unit
Department Description	The Peace and Security Research Unit comprises of the national security panel that conducts research on strategies related to Korean diplomatic and security policy, in addition to the Asia Security Initiative Research Center, Center for Chinese Studies, Center for Japan Studies, and Center for North Korea Studies. The Peace and Security Research Unit at the East Asia Institute (EAI), has presented three major strategies for Korean diplomacy, namely ‘complex network’, ‘co-evolution with the North’, and ‘middle power diplomacy’, Since 2009, the unit, with the support of the Macarthur Foundation in the U.S. has conducted large-scale research projects which include the “Northeast Asia Alliance Network”, “Future of North Korea”, “Identity Conflict and Regional Stability in East Asia”, Changes in East Asian Regional Security Architecture and Korean Diplomatic Policy”, and “Middle Power Diplomacy”. The research outcomes have been presented as issue briefings, working papers, EAI reviews, the "U.S.-China Relations Series," as well as in book form. In addition, the unit organizes sessions with government officials to discuss security issues, promotes international scholarly exchange through its "smart talk" forums with renowned overseas scholars, and conducts ‘smart Q&A interview’ sessions with local and international experts.
Job Descriptions	- Basic data gathering for the U.S.-China Relations (UCR) project - Participating in conferences, roundtable discussions, forums, and weekly intern seminars. - Providing logistical support for institute activities.

Eligibility	This internship is open to all undergraduate and graduate students who are currently studying political science, international relations, economics, sociology, and public administration. This session we are also looking for an intern who is fluent in Chinese-Mandarin as well as either English or Korean. * High level proficiency in English is a requirement and PC skills are also necessary. The working language of the institute is Korean but lacking this does not preclude an applicant for full consideration.
