The East Asia Institute (EAI) is offering internship opportunities for current undergraduate and graduate students in its Peace and Security Research Unit.
About EAI The East Asia Institute (EAI) is a leading independent think-tank located in Seoul. The EAI conducts academic surveys and policy research in which it offers practical solutions and directions on a myriad of issues affecting the Korean Peninsula and the East Asia region as a whole. As an important source of knowledge, the EAI often works in collaboration with government ministries, academics and with other leading research institutions on a diverse range of policy-relevant issues via its vast international network. EAI Internship Program As a non-profit research organization, the EAI aims to help develop the next generation of internationally focused scholars and practitioners through education programs. One such avenue being internships that are offered to passionate and talented undergraduate and graduate students, who show promise and a strong desire toward building a career in policymaking and/or academia. EAI interns have opportunities to attend international conferences, seminars, and forums held by the institute. Moreover, EAI offers a weekly intern seminar to provide educational incentives and unique insights into the think-tank world. During the seminar interns have the chance to network with other likeminded students and also receive informative lectures by EAI staff members.

1. Peace and Security Research Unit |
Department Description |
Conducts research projects on the effects of the changing world order in military and security issues, as well as regional relationships in East Asia. It oversees the activities of the Middle Powers Research Team, National Security Panel, and China Research Panel. |
Job Descriptions |
- Basic data gathering for the U.S.-China Relations (UCR) project. - Participation in conferences, roundtable discussions, forums, and weekly intern seminars. - Providing logistical support for institute activities. |

Eligibility |
This internship is open to all undergraduate and graduate students who are currently studying political science, international relations, economics, sociology, and public administration.
*High level proficiency in English is a requirement and PC skills are also necessary. The working language of the institute is Korean, so Korean language skills are an asset but lacking this does not preclude an applicant for consideration. |
