2018년 8월 25일 EAI는 ‘중국의 미래 성장과 아태 신문명 건축’이라는 연구 사업의 일환으로 중국 베이징에서 워크숍을 개최하였습니다. 이번 워크숍은 미국과 일본에 이어 중국에서 열린 세 번째 지역 워크숍으로, 중국의 경제, 에너지와 환경, 기술, 안보 등 네 개의 세션으로 나누어 진행되었습니다. 이번 워크숍에는 국내 및 중국 연구진 총 16명이 참여하였으며, 미중 무역전쟁의 잠재적 시나리오 및 인공지능 부문에서의 기술 발전, 청정 에너지, 중국의 군사비와 전략, 중국의 지역경제 발전 격차와 부의 집중 등에 대해 논의하였습니다. 이어서 오는 11월에는 한미중일 4개국의 연구진이 한 자리에 모여 1차년도 연구 성과를 공유하고 평가하는 서울 워크숍이 개최될 예정입니다.
