Hon. Thomas Schäfer, the German Ambassador to Pyongyang, visited East Asia Institute on Wednesday July 9, 2014, to share his experience and insights as a diplomat in North Korea. With experts from EAI’s Center for North Korea Studies (Chair: Hyung-Min Joo, Korea University), Ambassador Schäfer discussed reforms the new leadership has introduced and the current state of North Korean economy.
