The East Asia Institute hosted the 2012 EAI Social Sciences Lecture Series led by EAI Chairman Young-Sun Ha, former professor of International Relations Department at Seoul National University. Chairman Ha, who is one of the leading scholars in South Korea, has conducted major studies in social sciences. The eight lectures took place from September 20th to November 14th on the topic of “Historical Transformation of the East Asian Regional Order and the Korean Peninsula: From Tianxia to Complexity.” In total 186 people participated in this lecture series, including undergraduate and graduate students, scholars, and members of the general public. This lecture series was held with the specific objective of providing the opportunity to understand more on the interconnected issues in Korean society by examining historical transitions in the regional order of East Asia.
